Welcome to the annual Taos Pueblo Pow Wow!!!

As a long time organizer of this annual celebration, I extend a warm welcome to each and every one of you to our tribal homelands.  I hope that you have a wonderful stay with us here at the base of our beautiful Taos Mountain.  Enjoy the clean fresh air, the good clean mountain water and of course our beautiful mountains.  The tall fence to the south is home to our bison herd that numbers approximately 140 animals.

I am pleased that you have diverted the “Pow Wow Trail” in our direction to dance, sing, and share the beauty of our ancestral home.  Enjoy yourselves and if there is anything you would like to know please contact one of the committee members or come up to the announcers’ booth.

While Pueblos were not known for hosting pow wows, in the last twenty to thirty years, pow wows have evolved and have found homes in pueblo country. I believe these celebrations of contemporary song and dance are here to stay.  Several pueblos in the region have some excellent singing groups and very professional dancers in all categories as you may see and hear during this three day celebration!

Deep – heartfelt thanks go out to everyone who has helped with the preparations of this tribal celebration.  I would like to thank the Taos Pueblo Governor and staff; the Taos Pueblo Warchief and staff, the Taos Mountain Casino management and staff, and all the volunteers and business that have assisted in staging this great dancing and singing circle!!
